VTAPL – Volunteer Tutor Adult Literacy Program

Did You Know that one in every three adults in Alberta has difficulty writing or reading the printed material commonly found at work, at home or in the community?

Do you or someone you know need help with reading, writing, spelling or basic number skills? We provide one-on-one tutoring for adults who want to improve their language skills.

Do any of these stories sound familiar?

  • “I’m sorry, I don’t have my glasses with me. Could you tell me what this says?”
  • “I have a sprained wrist and can’t fill out the form. If I give you the information, will you write it for me?”
  • “Dear, my hands are all sticky from the bread dough. Would you please open the mail and read it to me?”
  • “John, I value your opinion. Would you review this document and give the board your thoughts?”

People who have trouble reading and writing have developed many different coping skills to help them deal with these situations.

These people deserve more than just coping skills….

If you or someone you know is in need of assistance with Reading, Writing or Math, give us a call; we may be able to help.

We offer FREE one-on-one tutoring to help improve literacy skills. All information is kept strictly confidential.
