The River of Life workshop is designed to provide information & interventions for caregivers working with Aboriginal youth at risk of suicide, aged 15 to 24. Workshop topics include: Story of Aboriginal People (past & present); Aboriginal Spirituality & Spiritual Aspects, Teachings; Protective & Risk Factors; Differences between self harm & suicide attempts; Recommendations from Literature Reviews; Community Resources
ASIST - Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training February 27th & 28th 8:30 to 4:30 At the Northern Lakes College - High Prairie campus Registration fee - $100 registration deadline - February 19th
More than 4000 Canadians kill themselves each year. The key to suicide prevention is trained individuals who are ready, willing & able to get involved with each person at risk. This workshop will train you to be one of those individuals.
Canadian Firearms Safety Certification (CFSC) March 19th & 20th Friday - 6:00 to 9:00 Saturday - 9:00 to 5:00 At the Northern Lakes College - High Prairie campus Registration fee - $100 registration deadline - March 12th
Registration fee does not include any provincial costs to get registered.
This course will give you the certification you need to purchase ammunition and long barrel guns.
Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Certification (CRFSC) April 17th 9:00 to 5:00 At the Northern Lakes College - High Prairie campus Registration fee - $100 registration deadline - April 9th
You must have your CFSC to take this course.
Registration fee does not include any provincial costs to get registered.
This course will give you the certification you need to purchase hand guns.
